Terms & Conditions

1. Seller & Customer

Direct Trade Supplies is the online trading name of G & R Electrical Wholesalers Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 2807157). Our registered office is Unit 4 Drakes Court, Eagle Road, Plympton, Plymouth, PL7 5JY. VAT Registration Number: 501518487.

These Terms and Conditions (together with our Privacy Policy) form a legally binding contract between Direct Trade Supplies (“we”, “us”, or “the Seller”) and you (“you”, “your” or “the Customer”). They apply to all orders placed via our website.

2. Your Agreement To Us

By placing an order with us, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and are at least 18 years of age. Placing an order constitutes your agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing your order.

3. Order & Delivery Process

We aim to dispatch orders within a 1-4 working day dispatch window, as indicated on product listings. Orders placed before 13:00 are processed the same day, whilst orders placed after will be processed the next working day.

Delivery is made using:

  • Next Working Day Courier (DPD, DX, FedEx, DHL, Parcel Force, Yodel)
  • Royal Mail 48  (Expected 48 hour delivery after dispatch)

Delivery costs:

  • Free for orders over £125 + VAT
  • Orders under £125 + VAT are charged based on weight and delivery method

We reserve the right to amend delivery methods based on package size and destination. If you require an urgent or special delivery, please contact us. Additional charges may apply and will not be refundable if the order is returned.

Bank Transfers: Please allow one additional working day for payment clearance. We will confirm receipt once the funds are cleared.

Inspection: All goods must be inspected upon delivery. Any damage or shortage must be reported to us within 3 days of receipt.

4. Failure To Deliver Or Failure To Deliver On Time

While we strive to meet estimated delivery times, we cannot be held liable for delays caused by third-party couriers or circumstances beyond our control. If time is critical, please contact us prior to ordering. Where the carrier is found to be at fault, our liability is limited to refunding the delivery charge.

We are not responsible for deliveries made to incorrect addresses provided by the customer.

5. Goods Out Of Stock

If an item is out of stock, we will notify you promptly and offer:

  • An estimated delivery time
  • An alternative product
  • A full refund

We reserve the right to cancel orders due to stock unavailability.

6. Passing Of Risk & Title

Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. Ownership remains with us until full payment has been received. If you request goods to be left in a safe place, you assume liability for any loss or damage from that point.

7. Bespoke or Cut to Order Items

Customised products (e.g. cut LED tape) are non-refundable unless faulty or not as described. These are exempt from cancellation under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

8. Payment Information

Payment is accepted via major credit/debit cards or by phone. All transactions are subject to security and fraud checks. We reserve the right to cancel any order suspected to be fraudulent.

9. Satisfaction Guarantee

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. We will offer a full refund or replacement.

If you are otherwise unsatisfied, contact us within 14 days of receipt. We aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly. This does not affect your statutory rights.

We reserve the right to update product prices, descriptions, and these Terms at any time. The applicable terms will be those in force at the time you place your order.

10. Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations)

You may cancel most online orders within 14 days of receiving the goods. You are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

Exceptions: Bespoke, cut-to-order or customised items are exempt and non-refundable.

We handle all complaints individually and strive for a swift resolution.

13. EV Charger Warranties

Warranty claims for electric vehicle chargers are handled directly by the manufacturer. Please contact them in the event of a fault. We will assist where possible.

14. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control (e.g., strikes, natural disasters, courier issues, pandemics).

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising under them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide high-quality products and a smooth shopping experience, Direct Trade Supplies shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses or damages, including but not limited to additional costs, business interruption, or loss of profits, resulting from delays, defective goods, or service issues. In all cases, we reserve the right to rectify any issue or replace faulty goods before any refund or compensation is considered. This clause does not affect your statutory rights.
